Robotic Plaster Carving
This study investigates robotic plaster carving as a method to add detail and texture to plaster surfaces, a material historically important in architectural construction and education. The research focuses on understanding and formalizing a robotic workflow by examining fabrication and material parameters such as toolpath geometry, tool orientation, carving speed, profile, and stroke aggregation. Aimed at enhancing tool-material interaction in the fabrication process, the study contributes to advanced applications in architectural construction and digital crafts, demonstrating the potential of robotic plaster carving for detailed and textured surface work.
